About Sean Chen
A “thoughtful musician well beyond his years” (The Republic), pianist Sean Chen shares his “alluring, colorfully shaded renditions” (New York Times) and “genuinely sensitive” (LA Times) playing with audiences around the world in solo and chamber recitals, concerto performances, and masterclasses, after having won the 2013 American Pianists Awards, placing third at the 2013 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, and being named a 2015 Annenberg Fellow. Mr. Chen is the Jack Strandberg/Missouri Endowed Chair Associate Professor of Piano at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory. Learn more »

Isaac Maurer
Isaac will be playing Brahms Intermezzo in A Major Opus 118 No. 2
Isaac is a junior in high school from Tonganoxie and is currently enrolled in classes at JCCC. Isacc is a piano student of Betty Todd-Smith and has received private coaching from piano graduate students from KU. Isaac earned superior ratings at the KCMTA Achievement Auditions, KMTA District and State Honors Auditions, and National Federation of Music Clubs Festival.

Michael A. Ciccarelli
Michael will be performing Beethoven Opus 27 No. 2, 3rd Movement
Michael is currently a sophomore at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park and is a piano student of Kimberly Katz. Michael won first prize at the MMTA State Piano Competition in both 2022 and 2024 and is a pianist with the Kansas City Young Chamber Musicians. Michael has had the privilege of receiving Master Coaching from Stanislav Ioudenitch of Park University, Oberlin Conservatory, and Reina Sofia International School of Music in Madrid, Spain as well as from Dr. Xiting Yang at the University of Arkansas and Dr. Logan Skelton at University of Michigan.
