The University of Kansas recently accepted delivery of a new Steinway Model B grand piano. During a recent visit to the Steinway Factory Selection Room in New York, assisted by Gordon McNelly - owner of Steinway Piano Gallery Kansas City, Ellen Sommer - Associate Professor of Practice - Collaborative Piano, personally selected the instrument.
Bob Dillinger, University of Kansas Piano Technician, and Dean Robert Walzel accompanied Gordon McNelly and Ellen Sommer on their trip to the Steinway factory. The new Steinway Model B is now being used in Ellen's studio in Murphy Hall at the University of Kansas.
